From The Top Arts Camp is a residential camp offering training in the performing and visual arts. It is for youth entering Grades 7-12 (Sept/12) and will be taking place Aug. 17-23 at Booth University College (Winnipeg, MB).

This will be our 12th year and we are planning towards having our best camp yet! Not only do we have access to the excellent facilities at Booth, but some dance and theatre classes will be held in the modern studios of the newly renovated Department of Theatre and Film at the University of Winnipeg. That means sprung floors and mirrors! Finally, the climax of camp - the Camper Concert - will be at a theatrical venue with proper staging, lighting and sound.

Back by popular demand, we will again be offering campers the opportunity to sign up for 'excursions' for the Tuesday afternoon. We'll be taking advantage of the artistic opportunities in cultural downtown Winnipeg. Excursions are arranged that highlight such artistic disciplines as dance, film, music, theatre, visual art and more. Options may include a tour and sketching lessons at the Winnipeg Arts Gallery, a tour and opportunity to observe an advanced class at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, a 'behind the scenes' tour of Winnipeg's largest venues (Centennial Concert Hall, Manitoba Theatre Centre, Pantages Playhouse, and more), a walking mural tour along Ellice or Sargent Ave., and watching a movie at the IMAX cinema!

Our theme this year is 'RUN'. Just as a key to running well is pacing and discipline, we'll be exploring how discipline can help us in each part of our lives.

All meals, instruction, program and accommodation are provided for only $399 (plus GST). The first 10 campers to register will receive a $20 discount! 'Bring a friend' discounts ($20) are available.

Why register for camp now? Because choices for Classes and Excursions are on a 'first-come-first-serve' basis - priority will be given to campers in the order in which they register. This year Registration is being opened four months earlier than last year. Don't risk the chance of not getting the choices you want because there's no spaces left. LEADER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM!

This year we will be continuin to offer our popular Leader-in-Training (LIT) program. In the same way that we want to offer excellent training to campers, we are also committed to helping with staff leadership development. The LIT program is open to anybody who will have graduated from Grade 12 in June/12, or previously. LIT Participants have a daily class together and help to lead, with support, various aspects of camp. Applicants have the option of choosing from two streams - Discipleship (including learning how to lead a small group and be a leader in an overnight camp setting) and Teaching (including assisting with instruction of classes, and teaching - with support). Cost for the Leader-in-Training is $249 (plus GST). An application form will be emailed upon Step 1 of Registration which is Payment (see left margin here).
